Brit Telly Headlines: Week of August 21, 2017.

A selection of British TV news from the past week:

The “king of British light entertainment,” Bruce Forsyth, has died.

The new Great British Bake-Off will air on Channel 4 (in the UK) on Tuesday, August 29. (Confused about the changes happening on that show? Here’s your cheat sheet to catch you up!) Meanwhile, my local PBS station is several episodes behind on its current run of the show, thanks to a long pledge drive. Come on! The suspense is killing me!

Netflix has picked up the BBC series White Gold, about window salesmen in 1980s Essex. Go look at this clip–Chuck from Gossip Girl is one of the main characters! That is all kinds of awesome. (And the other two actors are from The Inbetweeners.)

The Durrells in Corfu, season two: Trailer.

Endeavour will return for a fourth series.

The BBC is going to remake Hitchcock’s horror classic The Birds.

What’s coming to streaming service BritBox this fall?

Have a great week watching (British) TV!
