Brit Telly Headlines: 30 January 2018.

A selection of British TV news from the past week:

OOH OOH OOH they’re making a series 5 of Line of Duty! I don’t know if my heart is up to the stress of watching it, but I’m excited anyway.

The new BBC thriller Requiem: here’s a trailer.

Endeavour series 5 is on its way! Here’s a sneak preview.

Here’s a handy list of every drama series ITV has planned for 2018.

Sky One is making a new drama called Curfewand it will star Sean Bean.

Of course…who else could play a world leader actually called “the Great”? Helen Mirren will star in the Sky/HBO drama based on the life of Catherine the Great.

Well, I’ll hand it to Victoria, they are taking out all the stops: Will Rufus Sewell return in season 3?

Okay, never mind, Paul Bettany will not be playing Prince Phillip in season 3 of The Crown.

Have you heard of this BBC drama Doctor Foster? I hadn’t, even though it stars Suranne Jones (who I love in Scott & Bailey).

I have rather gone off James McAvoy, because I am still heartbroken over his break-up from Anne-Marie Duff, but here is a trailer for his new film Submergence.

The entire time of Torchwood is returning for an “audio adventure.

Just for fun: Who are the most “swoonworthy” British lit and film characters?

Very sad news: the actor who played the teletubbie Tinky-Winky, Simon Shelton, has died.

Have a great week watching (British) TV!
