Brit Telly Headlines: 3 April 2018.

A selection of British TV news from the past week:

Poldark season 4 news keeps coming, even though we’re likely still months away from seeing the new series stateside.

Coming to Britbox in April (please note the miniseries Our Friends in the North, which I personally have found it hard to find anywhere else, and features EARLY star turns by Christopher Eccleston, Daniel Craig, Gina McKee, and Mark Strong).

Like Ricky Gervais? You can find him all over on Netflix. Related: Netflix is producing a King Arthur reboot for TV.

The Crown casting news: So, I was disappointed that Paul Bettany was not actually cast as Philip, but now I’ve seen this news, and glory blazes forth out of sadness. I like Paul Bettany, but I LOVE TOBIAS MENZIES.

The City & the City (by China Mievelle): News about the BBC’s new adaptation. Did you know that this program was in the works? (I didn’t.) Did you know it will star David Morrissey? (I didn’t.) I am beyond excited, because if you think I love Tobias Menzies, that love is almost nothing compared to how much I LOVE DAVID MORRISSEY.

Doctor Who convention news: Christopher Eccleston is actually going to show up for a signing!

Comic actor Bill Maynard has died.

Short list this week; I think everyone was on spring break last week. Oh, well, enjoy this week, watching (British) TV!
