Brit Telly Headlines: 23 October 2018.

A selection of British TV news from the past week:

All the latest Doctor Who news. (And: The Beebs is quite happy with the new Doctor’s ratings.)

Bodyguard is coming to Netflix: Trailer.

Outlander season 4: Review.

New ITV drama: Dark Heart.

Agatha Raisin is now on Acorn and SkyOne.

The big-screen adaptation of the musical Cats: Will Idris Elba star? Yes, please.

Peaky Blinders: Casting news.

Top Gear has a new crew.

Were the American remakes of Shameless and The Office better than the British originals? I think not, but the Guardian makes that case.

Once, Morecambe and Wise tried to break into America. It must not have worked; I never heard of them before this year!

ITV chief says it’s time to create a British challenger to Netflix. Yes, please.

Have a great week, watching (British) TV!

  1. Wow, you must be really young! I vividly remember Morecambe and Wise from their many appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show. I hadn’t thought about them in years, but the minute I saw their names it brought back memories of their great comedy. Thanks for the reminder of the good ol’ days. (And, of course, you are now about to say you have never heard of Ed Sullivan, I suppose…)

  2. Sigh…I wish I was really young!! 🙂

I’ve got to see some Morecambe and Wise somewhere–Jackie tells me some of their older programs are Christmas classics. They sound awesome!

p.s. who is Ed Sullivan? Just kidding. I hear he had a really big shew.
